Hi!

We are both retirees from the federal government where we worked for over 30 years in the field of computers. Some of our contemporaries used to joke with us that they are in to so many things that they don't know how they ever found time to go to work.  Though we didn't believe it at the time, this seems to be the case with us.

When Ron retired, he first volunteered his services to teach English to recent Russian - Jewish immigrants.  Although he doesn't claim any great language skills, these immigrants did pass their language examination and are well on the way to become American citizens.

Glenda, since retirement, has taken part in a 60-mile walk to raise money for cancer research, and was a teaching volunteer at a local elementary school. She also works with Project Literacy - to teach reading and writing in English to people of this area who need a little extra assistance.

Ron is currently volunteering with the Foreign Born and Information and Referral Network.  This organization does amazing work with recent immigrants into our county.  They help to find housing, translation work, get the children enrolled in school, meet them at the airport, etc.

Ron, well, he doesn't do any of that. FIRN has a very up-to-date computer network.  Ron, using his education and skills keeps the system working, has written their database, and trains users. In 2008 Ron was the Howard County Volunteer of the year.

In August 2002, Ron was operated on for cancer at Johns Hopkins. He goes back for checkups as required and, so far, seems to be in good health.

This website serves as a record of our travels, our love of photography, and other happenings during our retirement.
